How Windows 10 Functions for Healthcare can Benefit Your Organization

CTL is your source for Windows 10 devices and we’ve got great news for healthcare providers. Windows 10 functions for healthcare allow medical professional to work more efficiently, improve care and extend the reach of clinical services. Now is a great time to upgrade to the latest OS – with the Windows 10 experience being so familiar to Windows users, organizations will have little to no user training to move from Windows 7, 8 or 8.1. We’ve outlined the latest Windows 10 functions for healthcare to demonstrate how upgrading will benefit your organization.

Mobility and Productivity

With the familiar Start Menu, Task Bar and Desktop and innovative features like Continuum, which optimizes your apps across touch and desktop modes, care teams will be able to fluidly interact with personal and professional devices, access critical EHR/EMR systems, and connect with each other wherever they may be – from intensive care units to home health visits or social care offices.

A More Secure, Private Computing Experience

Windows 10 is the most secure Windows ever. With Windows 10, healthcare professionals can replace passwords with more secure options, such as biometrics and hardware-based multi-factor credentials. New advancements, such as Credential Guard protect login credentials by containing them in the hardware. With Device Guard and Secure Boot, Windows 10 enables health organizations to block attacks by allowing devices to run trusted software only.

New Levels of Engagement

Integration with existing systems and software, including more secure voice, chat, text and video, enables health professionals to connect with patients when and where it’s most convenient. By connecting new devices and platforms, like Microsoft Band and Microsoft Health, long-term care and chronic disease management can be extended to the home, and patients can proactively manage their health and wellness.

Windows 10 is available through CTL.net and can be included with the purchase of most of our desktop PCs, laptops or ruggedized Windows 2-in-1 tablets. For more information about CTL products, contact CTL or your sales representative today.

3D Printing Curricula and 3D Printers help Students Lay the Foundation for 21st Century Careers

CTL has teamed up with 3D Systems to offer 3D printers and 3D printing curricula to educators. Recently, 3D Systems partnered with STEAMtrax to offer classroom 3D printers  with integrated 3D printing curricula. As technology progresses, the skills students need for the work world are changing. 3D printing is at the forefront of cutting edge technology and is the foundation for many future careers in fields such as engineering, aeronautics, medicine, product design and architecture.

Earlier this year, CTL became a reseller for 3D Systems Corporation, the inventor of the original 3D printing technology. The new collaboration between 3D Systems and STEAMtrax will make it possible for CTL to offer comprehensive packages to educators that include both the 3D printers and 3D printing curricula. STEAMtrax is an innovative new 3D printing curricula for K-9 that integrates engineering and 3D printing technology with core academic knowledge in science, math, language arts, social studies and art. 3D design, printing and scanning are built into each  module using the Cube® 3 printer and the Sense ™ scanner. The STEAMtrax 3D printing curricula includes:

  • Problem-based, thematic storylines to make learning relevant and fun
  • Hands-on, constructivist learning stations to clarify science concepts
  • Integration of 3D design, printing and scanning built into each module
  • Engineering Project Design Process encourages critical thinking
  • Variety of formative and summative assessments, including rubrics
  • Flexible modules easily align to NGSS or state standards
  • Available in digital or print platform

CTL offers a range of 3D printing solutions for educators, including the professional grade Cube Pro®and smaller desktop models, the Cube®. While the STEAMtrax 3D printing curricula is specific to K-9 education, CTL offers 3D printing packages for every grade level, including universities. I’ve got nearly a decade of experience bringing innovative tools into classrooms, including 3D printing solutions. Give me a call at 800-642-3087 x208 or email me at mthielges@ctl.net to discuss how I can assist your school with 3D printing curricula.
